• To detect antibodies against the Toxoplasma gondii parasite
• To diagnose a current or past infection with Toxoplasma

When Does One Need to Get This Test Done?

• Symptoms of toxoplasmosis, such as flu-like symptoms, swollen lymph nodes, or muscle aches
• During pregnancy to check for possible infection
• If you have a weakened immune system and are at risk for toxoplasmosis
• Before undergoing organ transplantation
