What is the purpose of this test?
The Hepatitis C Virus Antibody, CMIA/CLIA test is used to detect antibodies against the hepatitis C virus (HCV) in the blood. It helps in screening for HCV infection and determining if someone has current, recent (acute), or past hepatitis C infection.
When does one need to get this test done?
If you have symptoms of hepatitis C infection such as fever, fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, or jaundice.
