Test Name: Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) Test

Purpose:

• Measures the level of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in the blood

• Evaluates hormonal balance, fertility issues, and puberty timing

When to Get This Test Done:

• For women: Preferred on day 2 or 3 of the menstrual cycle

• For men: Can be done at any time

• Recommended for symptoms like irregular periods, difficulty getting pregnant, and signs of low testosterone

Pre-Test Information:

• Women: Preferably on day 2 or 3 of the menstrual cycle

• Inform the doctor about medications being taken, such as birth control pills
